How to setup and use profilter
Before you sign up for proFilter your DNS MX records probably look something like this
MX 10 mail.mydomain.com
Make a note of these settings because during the proFilter setup we will ask you for some of that information.
When you sign up for proFilter you will receive a welcome email detailing the setup up instructions and more importantly the SMTP server you have been assigned to. With that information you will need to modify your DNS (Domain Name Service) records for your domain and ensure proFilter is at the top of the list. When adding the MX record ensure the priority number is numerically less than the current primary record (lower numbers are higher priorities). Your records should then look similar to below:
MX 10 mxXXXXXX.smtp-engine.com
Note
Please do not set up MX records using the server mxXXXXXX.smtp-engine.com
. Please use the server information as highlighted in your welcome email or you can find this information in the management portal after you have signed up.
Please do not change your MX DNS records until your completed the setup wizard in the portal.
