Do I need Backup MX?

If your email server goes down and you don't have a backup for email then any incoming email can't be delivered.  Most email servers will try to deliver the email again later but some servers don't.  If your offline for too long even those servers that retry will give up.

Loosing emails in this day and age can be a nightmare and even business critical.

With Backup MX (Backup SMTP) from Prolateral if your servers are down then incoming email will be delivered to the backup SMTP server.  When your mail server comes back up we will deliver the email back to your server.

We keep emails for up to 7 days, but if your server is going to be off line longer then tell us (via a support ticket) as we can arrange to force the delivery of the backed up emails to a different distination (Note. It's your responsibility to ensure you have a working email server before we force email to a temp server otherwise you could lose emails).
